Semarang Magic Community: Social Service (BAKSOS) August 2011

Three outstanding magicians from Jakarta shared mind-opening magic lessons on the 21st of August 2011, Saturday afternoon, in a house on Singosari Raya Street (Semarang,Jawa Tengah). Semarang Magic Community presented this event and was called Social Service (BAKSOS). BAKSOS is only for magicians. It is an intensive magic-teaching class for magicians to improve their magic shows.

*Note: BAKSOS = Bakti Sosial (Social Service). In Indonesia, BAKSO means Meat Ball. It is a catchy acronym for Indonesians. :)

The three outstanding magician mentors were Rolly Malau, Maxi Deli, and R Adi Botax Red. They have extensive magic shows experience and won many magic competitions. They performed spectacularly in the Sixth Semarang Magic Community Gathering.

BAKSOS participants were five professional young magicians from Semarang Magic Community: Bebbo Denoberto, Dodox Decaprio, Indra Ferano, Kelvin Montague, and Zue Nara. BAKSOS ran intensively from 14:30 to 22:15. Staffs of Semarang Magic Community such as Pratama Herry Herlambang, Deka De Fever, and Enrico Sidabutar contributed to the success of BAKSOS.

BAKSOS began with an inspiring briefing by the mentors such as their experience in magic, their opinions about magic competitions, FISM, technique, and so on.

BAKSOS continued with a personal mentoring on each participant. Indra Ferano received a few valuable critiques on how to mysteriously produce objects. "Hand position must always appear natural," explained Maxi Deli.

Zue Nara was excited to receive several mind-blowing new parasol magic ideas for his more explosive magic routine. "Are you interested to flood the stage with unlimited amount of parasols?", asked Rolly Malau.

Bebbo Denoberto got more than he asked for, he got a complete new routine from the mentors. Bebbo immediately tried to practice his awesome new routine. 

Dodox Decaprio learnt new ball manipulation techniques. "Come on, repeat it until you do it right or we will not go home," R. Adi Botax scolded.

Kelvin Montague showed his magic show video in his laptop and received specifics inputs from Rolly Malau, "Your show is good for competition, but you need to improve and develop your routine."

Later in the evening, BAKSOS got merrier by the surprise appearance of other amazing magicians such as Deka De Feuer, Enrico, El Cazo, Gantz Pizarelli, dan Wind Acemonte. They dazzled audiences during the Sixth Semarang Magic Community Gathering a night before.

This was really an event dedicated to improve and develop the art of magic.
